From Family Fun to Fishing Fame: A Look Back at Corey's Dam Fishing

It's hard to believe that it was back in 2011 when I first cast a little digital line onto the vast waters of YouTube. Originally, it wasn't about building a channel; it was simply about sharing our family's adventures – the camping trips, the holiday escapades, and of course, the fishing expeditions with family and close friends. Little did I know that this simple act of sharing would blossom into what Corey's Dam Fishing is today.

Back then, the idea of Corey's Dam Fishing was just a small spark, ignited by my love for angling, travel, and the joy of our family holidays. We cherished those moments of tranquillity by the water, the thrill of the catch, and the memories created during our family trips. I wanted to share that with the people closest to me. Looking back over the years, it's truly incredible to see how this journey has unfolded, connecting me with such an amazing community of fellow creator enthusiasts who share those same passions.

The early days were definitely a crash course in content creation! Armed with a basic camera and a whole lot of enthusiasm, I fumbled through the world of editing and tried to decipher the sometimes-mysterious ways of the YouTube algorithm. I even learned a valuable lesson about copyright early on, thanks to this video from Glenbawn Dam: Glenbawn Dam Video. There were certainly more outtakes and tangled lines on camera than trophy catches! But with each upload, each comment, and each new subscriber who resonated with our family's adventures, the motivation to keep sharing grew stronger.

What began as simple family fishing trips to our local dam has truly blossomed into something special.
